Your Native Teacher in Uruguay: An Experienced Background
I’m Sonia. I was born in Uruguay and I am a native speaker of Spanish. I hold a degree in Spanish Language and Literature and have more than 15 years of teaching experience. This background allows me to teach not only the foundations of Spanish, but also the expressions, cultural nuances, and everyday language that textbooks often leave out. For me, language is much more than vocabulary and grammar: it’s a way to understand people, cultures, and new ways of seeing the world.
I personally designed each lesson to help you communicate naturally, combining clear structure with authentic language, culture, and real-life situations. My teaching approach has been shaped by years of working with learners from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. As an adult learner of English myself, I know firsthand the challenges involved in learning a new language as an adult.
My goal is to help you build confidence in Spanish while discovering the culture, history, and everyday life of Uruguay, Argentina, and the wider Spanish-speaking world.
